This
is my great-uncle Burton Noble Lyons in front of the USS Shenandoah. The
dirigible crashed in Noble County, Ohio when it was caught in a violent storm on
September 3, 1925. Fourteen people including the captain were killed. Click on

The
Ray Melton Band
|

The
Ray Melton band was made up of local Warner Robins musicians who played for
dances at different places throughout the Middle Georgia area such as the
Civilian Employees Club on the base, Pinebrook Inn in Macon, the American
Legion, and Moose Club among others. The band played everything from swing
to country and western music. Members pictured above are Clifford Lyons, piano,
Tom Jerles,
clarinet, John Wallace, drums, Bill
Daniels, guitar, and Ray Melton, bass. |
